At Dukes of the South, we leave nothing to chance. Testing for Lafora disease is mandatory for our breeding dogs, while other genetic tests are voluntary. We collaborate with leading veterinary laboratories to ensure our puppies have the best start in life.

Musladin-Leuke Syndrome (MLS)

Optional

Hereditary connective tissue disorder. Affected dogs have tight skin and joints, often standing on tiptoes.

Neonatal Cerebellar Cortical Degeneration (NCCD)

Optional

Neurological disease affecting movement coordination. Manifests in puppies.

Imerslund-Gräsbeck Syndrome (IGS)

Optional

Vitamin B12 malabsorption, leading to anemia and failure to thrive.

Lafora Epilepsy

Mandatory

Late-onset form of epilepsy. A hereditary and progressive disease.
