Young Blood in the Ring: Falco and Junior Handling
Sunday, July 26, 2026, belonged to the International Dog Show (CACIB) in Częstochowa, Poland. For our kennel Dukes of the South, dedicated to Beagles, this day was full of emotions, wonderful experiences, and above all, a beautiful presentation of our dog Falco. This trip abroad carried the spirit of youth and enthusiasm that accompanied our entire time in and around the ring.
Atmosphere and Success in Junior Handling
Today was special because Falco was not presented in the ring by an experienced adult exhibitor, but by a promising young handler, Barborka. Barborka was immensely looking forward to this opportunity and put all her enthusiasm into the role. Although she had only a very brief moment to get acquainted with Falco before entering the ring, she handled the entire presentation with flying colors. She effortlessly managed even the more demanding aspects, such as the flawless handling of Falco on the judging table. Their mutual connection and teamwork immediately created a fantastic atmosphere in the ring.
This experience once again reminded us how immensely important it is to guide young people toward handling and working with dogs. Junior handling not only instills discipline, patience, and responsibility in children and young handlers, but above all, a deep bond with animals and an empathy for their needs. Our kennel actively supports these activities and young talents, as the future of our cynological world lies in them. Seeing the joy in the young handler's eyes after such a successful presentation is the best reward.
Conclusion and Acknowledgements
From the International Dog Show in Częstochowa, we take away not only a great title and an Exc. 1 CAC award for Falco, but above all a heartwarming feeling from this wonderful cross-generational teamwork. Our sincere thanks go to the judge, Mr. Vladimír Piskay (SK), for his professional, correct, and kind judging. We are already looking forward to the next show challenges together!
