Dukes of the South at the International Dog Show in Częstochowa: Championship, sunshine, and premier titles

Over a July weekend, we headed across the border with our pack from the Dukes of the South kennel to test our strength at the prestigious two-day 14th and 15th International Dog Show Czestochova (CACIB). The goal was clear – to showcase our Beagles in peak form, fight for Polish titles, and enjoy a great weekend in the company of fellow dog lovers. We returned home not only with immense joy, but above all with a completed Polish Championship for our experienced working treasure and a successful start to the Polish show career of our young prospect.

Saturday, July 25, 2026: Golden start to the weekend and a completed championship

Saturday morning welcomed us with pleasant summer weather. The show took place in the spacious grounds of the Rudniki airport near Częstochowa. The organizers did a fantastic job, thoroughly mowing the lawn, which can sometimes be quite prickly in such areas, and preparing it for the safe movement of both dogs and handlers. Both of our dogs entered the ring and performed remarkably well.

Young Jeff entered the Junior Class and presented himself in a perfect light. He received an Excellent 1 rating and his first CAJC title in Poland. However, the main hero of the day was Falco in the Working Class. He moved through the ring with absolute elegance and took home a complete set of top awards: Excellent 1, CAC, CACIB, and ultimately BOS. With this amazing victory, Falco officially fulfilled all requirements for the title of Polish Champion! The show day could not have started better for our kennel.

Sunday, July 26, 2026: Confirmation of form and a great finish for Jeff

Sunday's program continued in the same great spirit and at a high pace. All rings were running at full capacity, and the atmosphere around them remained very friendly throughout the day. Our Beagles proved that Saturday was no coincidence and that they were in top condition.

Falco did not falter in the working class once again and took home an Excellent 1 grade. However, young Jeff became the star of Sunday morning. In the junior class, he delivered a fantastic performance, which the judges rewarded with Excellent 1, CAJC, CACIB-J, and added the prestigious BOS title on top. Jeff thus showed huge potential for the future and takes home a wonderful foundation for further titles.

Atmosphere at Rudniky Airfield

The Rudniky Airfield grounds provided a generous backdrop for the international dog show. On both days, there was an informal, very pleasant summer atmosphere. All around, there were numerous stalls with rich refreshments and a varied offer of cynology supplies, clothing, and dog equipment, so between showing there was plenty of time for shopping and relaxation.

A minor operational drawback was the electricity. Although parking was supposed to include an electrical connection, the power lines were ultimately stretched only in the immediate vicinity of the vendor stalls. However, we are more than well equipped for traveling – the photovoltaics installed on the roof of our camper van resolved the entire problem without hesitation, ensuring full comfort and self-sufficiency for us all weekend, regardless of the grid.

Conclusion and Thanks

The international dog show in Częstochowa was extraordinarily successful for our kennel Dukes of the South. We bring home a new Polish Champion Falco, a brilliantly promising youngster Jeff with the CAJC and CACIB-J titles, and above all, lots of wonderful memories from a weekend spent among people who share the same passion for dogs.

Our heartfelt thanks for the professional judging, objective approach, and pleasant ring presence go to the judges, Maria Zasada (PL) and Vladimír Piskay (SK). We thank the organizers for a great event, and we are already looking forward to our next show stops in Poland!
