Successful Specialty Show in Kestřany for Dukes of the South
On Saturday, August 29, 2026, we attended the Beagle Club Czech Republic Specialty Show with our beagles from the Dukes of the South kennel. In the pleasant surroundings of South Bohemian Kestřany, we were represented in the Junior Class and Winner Class by Jeff and Falco. Under foreign judge Hermann Mayer, they achieved excellent results, and we headed home with a sense of a job well done.
The show took place on the beautiful grounds of Ranch Esadera. The pleasant summer weather and the peaceful setting of the ranch created a wonderful atmosphere for both exhibitors and the dogs themselves, who worked very well in the spacious rings.
Jeff competed in the Junior Class and presented himself in excellent shape. He moved with ease and appeared very confident in the ring. He was awarded Excellent 2 by the judge. Although he put on a great performance, we were a little sorry that the final critique did not include a closer explanation of what made the difference in narrowly missing first place this time. Even so, we are very pleased with his presentation and critique.
Our second representative in the Winner Class was Falco, who also delivered a very nice and focused performance. He received the evaluation Excellent 2, res. CAC. According to the title awarding rules, Falco inherited the CAC from the winning dog. For our kennel, this marks another very valuable and important step towards earning the Czech Champion title.
We would like to thank the organizers for a well-run club event and the judge for his judging. Many thanks to our young dogs for their exemplary presentation, and we look forward to the next show challenges ahead of us this season.
